MINISTER SCHEDULES:

Church of the Resurrection - through February 26, 2012

 St Michael - through February 26, 2012

Sacred Worship Committee Notes
January 3, 2012
Present:   Rose Kampschroer, Pauline Riedl, Ann McManus, Jill Schlueter, Sue Fox, Fr. Bill, Sue Soriano, Tom Lella

Items discussed:

Review of Thanksgiving
Positive comments about the ecumenical service and morning liturgy

Review of the Roman Missal Implementation
The first weeks using the new prayers have gone well. The Order of Worship provided for the assembly has proved to be very helpful with all of the prayers and responses in one place. Comments from people who have attended liturgies at other parishes have been that this aid for the assembly is better than the pre-printed cards.

Advent
It was good to have kept things simple for the season, with the changes in the Missal. The words to the gathering song on the banner was beneficial.

Christmas
Click for Attendance numbers. The total number is relatively the same, although some Mass times did see a significant change. We need to keep in mind that Christmas was on a Sunday, so the pattern for people may have been different this particular year. All of the celebrations were done well.

Stewardship Weekend - January 14/15
We modified the wording of asking people for a time preference. The "witness talks" this year will be done by the staff member responsible for each of the four areas, highlighting the needs and the definition of ministry.

Parish Mission
Fr. Jim Sichko will be the presenter for our Eastside parish mission, beginning the weekend of January 21/22. He will preach at all the liturgies and then have the talks in the evenings at St. Michael and mornings at Resurrection.

Present:   Jean Sahr, Pauline Riedl, Sue Fox, Jill Schlueter, Winnie Evans, Sue Soriano, Tom Lella

 Items discussed:

Roman Missal

November Remembrance of the Dead

  • Will take place at Nov. 5/6 Masses. The Book of the Names of the Dead will be at the font for those who wish to inscribe their beloved dead in it.

 Thanksgiving

  • Ecumenical Service with Immanuel Lutheran Church - Wednesday, November 23 at 7pm at Immanuel. Pie to follow : )
  • Thanksgiving liturgy: 9:00am at Resurrection

 Advent
We will follow basically in the same way as last year, so that we have nothing "new" and that amid the implementation of the Roman Missal we are able to try to have a prayerful celebration of Advent.

Christmas
The same schedule as last year. Note that Christmas does fall on a Sunday this year.

 Stewardship
The project of job descriptions continues.
